     The Library, a learning hub of the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences came into existence since the inception of the College. The library building was inaugurated by the Hon'ble D.G. ICAR and Secretary, DARE, Govt. of India, Dr S. Ayappan, on the 4th May 2011. It has a well furnished reading room, equipped with high end computers that facilitate both in-house and online activities.

     The collection of the library which had started off with just about 400 titles is enriched by the addition of new books every year. Currently the library has a collection of 5358 books, subscribes to 30 Indian published journals, 312 M. Sc. theses, 22 PhD theses, and subscribes to 8 popular magazines and 8 Newspapers. Also the library has a collection of back volumes of both Indian and International published journals earlier subscribed by the College.

     Keeping pace with the use of e-resources, the users of the Library have access to various e-journals, e-books and agricultural database under the Consortium for e-resources in Agriculture (CeRA) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for National Agricultural Research and Education System (NARES) Libraries. Students also have access to the Krishikosh database, a digital repository of theses, and other knowledge sources for agriculture and allied fields. The library has a LAN setup with 12 terminals and is a wifi enabled zone. Koha ILS has been used to facilitate all in house library activities as well as access to the collection of the Library through its OPAC.

+ Library Rules and Regulation:

     1. All registered students, teaching faculty, staffs of the College are members of the Library.
     2. On request and written approval of the competent authority, other students, scholars and faculty of other institutes / colleges can avail the facility of the library for a short duration.
     3. Circulation of books is provided only to the registered users of the College. Thesis, Reference Books and Magazines are not for issue.
     4. Borrowing of books on another borrowers name is not allowed.
     5. Books are to be returned / renewed on or before the due date. A late fee fine of Rs. 1/- per book per day will be charged for books kept beyond the due date.
     6. Journals which are issued will have to be returned by the borrower the next working day at 10.00 AM sharp.
     7. A book borrowed from the Library may be renewed for a further period of 15 days by students, provided no other reader has reserved the same.
     8. The loan period may be shortened by the Librarian if a book/ books are on special demand.
     9. Entry in the Library Gate register is mandatory every time a user visits the library.
     10. Library users must not mutilate library materials by marking, underlining, removing pages or portions of pages, removing binding or in any other way damage or deface library materials.
     11. In case of loss of a book by the borrower he/she shall either replace the book or bear its cost.
           If the book of a multi volume set is damaged or lost the member concerned shall be liable to replace the whole set or pay four times the cost of the same.
     12. Members are instructed not to bring casual visitors/friends or outsiders for using the library facilities without the prior permission.

+ Reprography Rules:

     1. The library currently offers photocopying and printing facility to all members at the rate of 70 paise/per page for photocopying and Re. 1/- /per page for printing.
         Only materials related to course of study or college activities are allowed to be photocopied or print.
     2. Photocopying of an entire book is not allowed. Partial photocopying of a few pages only will be allowed on permission.
     3. Spiral binding facility is also provided at the rate of Rs. 30/- per copy.
     4. Formatting and editing work of any kind will not be carried out by the staff of the library.

     + Student Council : In pursuance of the section 39(1) of the statutes of the Central Agricultural University, a student council has been constituted for the year 2014-2015 with the primary objective of promoting intellectual activities, mental and physical health and character building.



     + Hostels : Boys' and Girls' Hostels are within the College premises.



     + Students' Welfare Cell : All student-related activities (including extra-curricular activities) are looked after the Students' Welfare Cell

     The Information Technology Facility in CPGSAS (CAU-I) includes Local Area Network (LAN) - Wired and localized Wireless (Wifi), Internet Facility, E-Resources, KOHA (Online Library), Computer Laboratory, College Website, etc., which have been centrally housed and distributed from the Server Room to the various locations within the college campus which covers the various schools, sections and hostels.

     Hence, the IT facilities are made available to all of the faculty members, staff and students of the college at their respective locations, within the campus.




Public Relation and Media Management (PRMM) Cell

     Public Relation and Media Management (PRMM) cell has been constituted under the Collegeof Post-Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Umiam, Meghalayain order to keep record of various eventsorganized at the college and submission of photos/videos about the academics, research, extension activities/events to the PRMM Cell, Headquarters, Central Agricultural University, Imphal in an appealing way.

     In broad, the objectives of the cell are:
     • To provide the media coverage about the important activities/events pertaining to academics, research and extension of the college.
     • To Webcast the various National Programme in the college and sending the report to the PRMM Cell, CAU, Imphal.
     • To prepare short video clippings of new technologies developed and other important events and upload it in the social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

On 20.06.2022, a cluster demonstration Activity on “Application of bio-pesticides for organic cultivation of paddy” was conducted at Umwahlang village, Mawshynrut block of West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya” under DBT funded project on “Multi-institutional approach on development of technology driven bio-input production clusters for mass production of biofertilizers and biopesticides for promotion of eco-friendly farming with collateral development of bio-entrepreneurship in vegetables, spices and small tea growers of NER of India for better livelihood”.

     The Farmers' Hostel of the College of Post-Graduate Studies (CAU) caters to the needs of visiting farmers, faculties and scientists to this College. The Hostel has eight double-bedded Non-AC rooms, eight AC rooms and two VIP suites. Homely food and environment with excellent hygiene is the hallmark of the Farmers' Hostel. Round the clock Wi-Fi Internet service keeps one always in touch with home and office. The accommodation is given on first-come first-served basis. A very nominal room rent is charged to the guests as decided by the university authority.
